ProsperityYears ago I decided to start my own business. In the early years it was challenging and I began to experience financial problems. I wanted to experience more prosperity, abundance and financial success. I really believed there was a way to make money more easily. I knew there had to be a better way - a way to work smarter, not harder. I decided to research, attend workshops and prosperity programs. I began to see more prosperity. Things began to really improve in 2005. Recently I came across a collection of material that explains Wealth in a way that I have never really seen before. I've studied wealth and prosperity for quite some time. This material really put everything together for me in a way that I could understand and implement immediately with amazing results. Prosperity GameIn January 2005, while we were studying the Keys to the Kingdom material from David Owen Ritz at Castro Valley Unity Church, I listened to a taped message from Rev Diana McDaniel, San Leandro Unity, describing a Prosperity Game from the book “Ask and It Is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. On January 30th I began to use that game. I setup an imaginary checking account and deposited $1000 the first day and wrote checks for $1000. On the second day I deposited $2000 and wrote checks for $2000. On the third day I deposited $3000 and wrote checks for $3000. Each day it was exciting to deposit more money in my account ($1000 more than the day before) and write checks to pay for the many things I wanted in life. I have done this every day since, not because I ‘needed’ to, but because I really enjoy doing it. This morning I deposited $915,000 in my prosperity account and enjoyed spending part of it! It now feels natural to have that much money, and know that tomorrow I’ll deposit $916,000! Can you imagine depositing over $900,000 in your bank account and knowing you can deposit even more tomorrow and the day after? If not, you might want to use this prosperity game to develop your imagination and learn to feel good about having lots of money flow into your life. Beliefs and FeelingsDo you believe that you can have whatever you desire in life? Do you believe you deserve it? How can we have everything we desire? You’ve probably heard people say it is important to be positive, make a commitment and take action. Have you ever felt ‘guilty’ for doing it ‘wrong’, or not doing what you ‘should’ do? Have you ever thought, “but I try and try and it doesn’t seem to be working for me”? I’ve felt that way many times and thought that I must be doing something wrong because other people seemed to be doing well and it wasn’t working for me. The Creative ProcessWell, things began to change dramatically for me in November 2005, when I decided to buy and read the book “Ask and It Is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. This is the book that describes the prosperity game I talked about earlier. I love to read books, and this one is the most powerful I’ve ever read. It is simple and practical. They give a simple Creative Process:
Emotional Guidance SystemOne of the most valuable things I’ve learned from the book is how to use my emotions as a Guidance System. We are magnets, and vibrate like tuning forks. If we are feeling negative, like fear, guilt, despair, anger, worry, doubt, irritation, frustration, we attract things into our life that match that negative vibration. If we are feeling positive, like contentment, hopefulness, optimism, positive expectation, enthusiasm, eagerness, passion, joy, love, appreciation, we attract things into our life that match that positive vibration. I have a new perspective now about my emotions. I used to ‘beat myself up’ when I felt negative, and that simply made things worse. Now I consider my emotions a sign that I need to shift my thoughts to something that will give me a more positive emotion. I think of my emotions now like a thermometer. If the thermometer in the room reads 40°, do we get mad at the thermometer? No, we simply find a way to raise the temperature by turning on a heater. And do we expect the temperature in the room to go instantly from 40° to 70°? We probably accept that it will take time for the temperature to go up gradually, a few degrees at a time. This is similar to the process of changing our thoughts and emotions. We all develop habits, and we tend to think and vibrate at a certain level (either negative or positive). It takes time to gradually change our habit of thought and feeling. You will find it works best to be gentle and move up the scale of emotions from where you are to where you want to be. Pushing hard, ‘beating yourself up’, worrying or feeling guilty if you are not moving the way you want actually keeps you from getting there! The Art of AllowingI liked the book so much that I visited their website, abraham-hicks.com, and ordered DVDs from some of the workshops offered by Esther and Jerry. They emphasize the importance of learning “The Art of Allowing”. We allow good things to flow into our life by reaching for relief from negative thoughts and feelings. It is the feeling that is most important. Our thoughts result in feelings, and when we focus our thoughts appropriately then our emotions help us attract good things. Visual ImagesVisual images help me learn best and I’d like to share some of my favorites from the workshop DVDs. Imagine that you are in a place where things are not the way you want them to be. You say you want to be ‘over there’. Someone asks you why you want to be over there, or what it would be like to be over there, and you talk about how bad it is where you are, and why you don’t want things to be the way they are. As long as you continue to talk about how bad things are and why you don’t want to be where you are, you are focusing on what you don’t want and continue to feel the emotions of negativity created by your thoughts. This does not allow you to attract what you really want. If you can reach for the feeling of being in a new and better place, you begin to shift the vibration, and like a tuning fork you begin to attract what you want. Now, it does not usually work well to attempt to leap over great distances, or make dramatic changes. Small movements in the direction of your desires results in a smoother and more lasting progress. Lift Off for ReliefYou might ask how you can think about or have feelings for something you’ve never experienced yet. Imagine rubbing your hand on a piece of sand paper. At first it may not seem to be very rough, but after awhile you notice it hurts your fingers to rub it. You decide to lift your hand off the sand paper; stop rubbing it. You feel the relief when your fingertips no longer rub the rough paper. This same kind of relief can happen when you stop thinking and feeling thoughts that give you pain. Cork Floats when ReleasedImagine now a cork floating in a bowl of water. When you push the cork under the water, you need to hold it to keep it under the water. As soon as you release the cork, it pops up and floats on the surface again. Consider yourself the cork. You will float if you allow it. When you release the effort to keep yourself ‘down’, you will naturally rise up to the level you were born to experience. It is our resistance and trying so hard that keeps us from being the success we were born to be. When you relax, enjoy, and find a way to feel good, you allow the good that is meant for you to flow into your life. There is one thing you have to remember: “It is good to feel good.” |
